TOURING SHOWS 2010 (click on the pictures for more information) |
Richard III, Shakespeare's tale of a brilliant, scheming hunchback who murders and seduces his way to the throne. The final chapter of the War of the Roses, Richard III dramatizes the life of one of the most diabolical and manipulative, yet charming and witty villains in Shakespeare's canon. Embittered by his own physical deformities, the power-hungry Richard will stop at nothing to gain control of England, seducing and murdering his way to the throne.
Accidental Death of an Anarchist is a sharp and hilarious satire on corruption. Dario Fo's play concerns the case of anarchist railway worker Giuseppe Pinelli who, it was claimed, 'fell' to his death from a police headquarters window in 1969. Dario Fo has always put a premium on entertainment, and this updated version by John Laskin and Michael Aquilante is no exception. Love&Madness' Artistic Director, Neil Sheppeck directs.
After the Desire&Destruction season in London, Richard III and Accidental Death of an Annarchist will tour England, Scotland and Wales from mid-September until early-December 2010. Then Northern Ireland and Eire from late-January until April 2011.
In Lambeth will star Jack Shepherd in this 21 year annuversary of the award-
winning premiere at the Donmar Warehouse.
On his way to address a meeting, Tom Paine comes to pay his respects to William
Blake. Paine argues for radical revolutionary change. Blake argues that perhaps no
revolution is worth the blood spilled. How can an unfair, ailing society be changed
for the better?
After headlining the Tom Paine festival in Lewes this summer, In Lambeth will tour
the UK and Eire from March until May 2010, before returning to London.
Romeo and Juliet and A Taste of Honey both explore the pain of youth.
Two tales of teenage angst.
Two tales of remarkably strong young women.
Two classic pieces of theatre with strong relevance for today.
An ensemble of five will perform both plays, which are regularly on school curricula,
and each production will be designed to turn around in less than an hour.
Two shows, but one get-in and one get-out.
Romeo and Juliet and A Taste of Honey will tour England, Scotland and Wales
from mid-September until late-November 2009. Then Northern Ireland and Eire from
late-January until April 2010, before returning to London.
